At a young age, Hart realized he gravitated toward simple, emotive, and transcendent music and art forms.  While there is always room for complex and rich compositions, the appeal of three power chords, simple backbeats, or a single, modulated stab has always resonated on a deeper level.  The beautiful minimalism (with a side of contrarianism) is what drew Hart into the world of punk rock and hardcore during his formidable years.  These concepts and ideals would carry on as he fell in love with electronic dance music.

Today, Hart is known for playing dusty, noisy, and often low-fidelity minimal, dub techno, house, and techno grooves that feel like a warm blanket wrapped around the soul.  The popping clips of samples and the dancing delays of synth stabs invite and engulf his listeners to walk deeper down into the experience.  Ever the showman, you can also expect a bit of melody and a touch of epic breakdowns during his sets.

As a DJ, Hart came up in the venerable Midwest electronic music scene of Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Throwing shows and promoting some of the most prominent artists in the world while also playing packed underground after parties and headlining club nights shaped his style.  Having played every genre imaginable, he’s curated a unique sound and style that is evident no matter when or where he plays.  His love of all things deep, emotive, and dancefloor-focused shines through with his groovy, raw, and crunchy style of dub techno.

During his career in music production, DJ, and audio recording schools, his love and appreciation for the craft grew in a different way.  The punk rock ethos of opening the door for all comers into this counterculture deepened his love and appreciation for sound, learning, and his fellow music connoisseurs.

As a music producer, Hart has always opted to keep things as simple as possible.  Influenced by classic dub techno, techno, and house records, he keeps things manageable within his studio and DAW to get a straightforward, raw, and often “old” sound.  To date, Hart has released original music on his own Hannya Musique imprint along with labels such as KMS Records, Lucidflow, and more to come in the future.

This mindset and a lighthearted approach to knowing that music is there for fun have allowed him to grow and build a lasting sense of freedom in making and playing music.
